My Abit BE6 II mobo with the bad caps went up in flames (I mean actual flames!) and I need to replace it.. I’m not into gaming except old MS Flight Sim 2000 but I am interested in audio editing and MIDI so I’m thinking an integrated mobo with onboard video and audio, LAN and maybe fire wire. I would like some recommendations for moderately priced mobo / cpu combos including an online retailer
Thanks in advance for your help.

I'd go to www.pricewatch.com and browse around. Look for an mATX board in your choice of CPU. For AMD look at KM400 or nForce II chipsets. Most of these boards are pretty much the same set-up. MSI, Biostar and ABIT seam to be the most reliable.
Intel, can't tell ya I don't use'm.
