My computer was reset by mistake while using photoshop. Since then I can boot win95. When I use scandisk, it stops saying "out of memory" and recommends to uninstall any non important memory resident program. How?
I tried safe boot, but it says I need to use scandisk as soon as I type "win".
Thanks

Can you boot into DOS mode instead of Win95 and run scandisk from the prompt?

I have tried to run scandisk from dos prompt and stops at the second menu option in scandisk menu. Tonight I'll try the "sys" command.

If you do a manual scandisk and you get this type of error.. therefore you have a TSR running in the background which does not let you run scandisk.. what it is telling you to do is.. disable the anti-virus programs running in the background then run scandisk..

Even if I start with the safe boot I get the same results. I don't think I have an antivirus program. Any other idea?
