if somebody changed the jumpers you obviously need to set it back to Master. If its a Maxtor or WD I believe the jumper should eithier be in the middle or far right (I could be wrong.) You may need to fdisk and format drive as well. Did I understand correct that even if you boot with a win95 boot disk you cant even get to a a:\ to run a dir on c:?

i receantly got a "new computer" , a packered bell peice of ****. when i finally got it to properaly access the floppy on boot up i tryed a win95, and 98 startup disk, but it still said :no operating system installed in the bios so then i tryed a dos setup disk remembering it was a new drive. it said it finished installing it but when i went to boot up again the same thing happened. some onwe had messed with the jumpers and i am not sure if that is the problem cause i tryed to look at them and they looked fine.
any sugestions?
