Does anyone know how to make xp show the "Press Ctrl-Alt-Del to login" at the start up screen instead of showing the last person who has logged in?

run control userpasswords2

check to require ctrl+alt+del

I think tweakui can clear the last user.

you also need to disable the welcome screen from control panel - user accounts (this will kill fast user switching)

didn't see the option to clear last user in the new tweakui. maybe the old one will work. gotta test it.

edit: nope, didn't work.

looks like there is a reg hack to do it.

Thanks Midknyte, I knew there was someone here that would know where to look....

I have run the "control userpasswords2" on both my machines, I have also downloaded the file you linked for me. I will take a look at that for clearing the last user...

Thanks...

Well, the registry hack did not work.

I probably should have mentioned that I am running the latest novel client (required by my employer). I am going to see if it has some type of "clear last user"...

not sure how to clear the logon name from novell client. what version is it? you might have to research that specifically if the windows reghack doesn't work.

Well, I have looked through all the different option menus, and can not find an option with-in the client. I am using the latest version for xp.

At least I have the ctrl-alt-del thing fixed.... Thanks for your help....
