I’m trying to install an IBM ADF Scanner on a computer at work, it is a ProGen Atlas X that uses an A-Trend 6220 motherboard with a 350 MHz PII processor. The problem that I am coming up against, is that when I install the proprietary card on the m.b., it disables the floppy drive from reading a disk. It tries to read a disk, but reports that the disk is not formatted. When I remove the card, then it will read the same disk just as it should. The interface card for the scanner is not PNP, and provides 7 I/O choices, ranging from 230 to 370. I have tried all, with the same results. There are no IRQ settings on the card. I have checked for conflicts in device manager, as well as available I/O ranges, but nothing unusual turns up. Does anyone have any thoughts on this problem? I have contacted both ProGen and IBM, but they just point fingers at each other. I have since installed the scanner on my computer at home to verify that it works (PCChips 598 w/AMD K6-2 /300), and it does.

Thanks, David
