Hi PPL... Ok, i just did a bios update for only the second time. all is well.. :O}}.. But what i want to ask is, now that i have done this, does it mean that all the settings in the bios are at a default state?.. If so, how do i know which setting to alter to make the most of what's in my system?.. (eg, memory, bus speed ect, ect..) Or should i just leave it as is and say no more?.. Can any of you lot tell i'm just learning?..Haha... Cheers all..

The last time I updated my BIOS, all my original settings remained intact. Your mileage may vary.

As to modifying the system to suit your tastes, start hitting the different websites that carry info on your system or the type programs you use. Hopefully someone here will give you some pointers to get you started.

The default settings aren't bad though so don't worry about "losing" performance at default, many times any gains made through changes are minimal.

Not sure what you've got there, but if it's a fast 'nuff system and your not having any performance issues, I think I'd leave well enough alone.

Learn what you can about your system components and adjust your settings accordingly. you should be able to look at your components and determine the manufacturer and go to their web site to look up info on it. Compare their data to your bios settings and see if changes are in order.

I hope some of this helps...Paul
