yes 9600ultra,not pro
from gigabyte
500/600
128/128

how much can i squeeze out from this beast?

and look at his gorgeus cooler!

his card:ati radeon 9600 ultra has +100 mhz core clock,just like 9600xt

i wann know if when it comes to performance is a realy an genuine xt much cheaper.

worth 20$+9600pro's price?

9600pro could be better?

see his huge cooler and other stuff:www.amddiyoc.com/giga/r9600ultra/test.htm

It probably performs at or a bit above XT levels. If all they've done is attached a big heatsink and factory overclocked a standard 9600 Pro core, then you can forget about overclocking it any further.

what is this 9600 ultra he keeps referring too and when did ATI make them?

I can't find much on them, but it's not an ATI product, just third party manufacturers (like Gigabyte) who have taken a 9600 Pro and factory overclocked the core by 100MHz.

IT's 128/128 as opposed to 256/128 isnt it?

In that case i'd keep away and just get an XT

I think in all his excitement about getting a card he's mixing up Nvidia and ATI

from the ATI website:
http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9600/radeon9600pro/index.html
RADEON® 9600 technology is available in four product configurations built by ATI: RADEON® 9600 XT, RADEON® 9600 PRO, RADEON® 9600 and RADEON® 9600 SE.

No such thing as a pro ultra. Ultra is a term used by nVidia. nVidia does use XT, like the 5900XT.
