*Potential Doom 3 Spoiler Alert!* Doom 3 story question

This contains a potential spoiler for doom 3 so if you don't have it yet and you are planning on getting it, don't read if you don't wanna know what's gonna happen. . .




Has anybody made it to the part where you have to send the transmission to the fleet to get some reinforcements to the Mars base? Did anybody choose NOT to send the transmission? I did send it and later on, I find out I had played right into the evil scientists plans to get the earth ships to the base. What happens if I had chosen NOT to send the transmission? I assume the evil scientist dude will find a way of spoofing a distress call and the fleet will come anyway but did anybody take this course?

I chose not to send the transmission. The guy who asks you to send the transmission keeps warning you. Then later on when you get to hell the evil scientist just says that he will alert the troops himself. I'm not sure what the choice has a difference on in terms of the actual gameplay or if its just a storyline element.

I chose to send the transmission because I wasn't afraid of him and his warnings :p
