Hi, I have the following system: -

ASROCKP4S61 BOARD
PENTIUM 4 3.0GHZ HT 800FSB
1GIG OF DDR400 (SINGLE-CHANNEL)

It came with a rather poor standard integrated graphics and I want to unleash the whole-potential of this motherboard. What would be the best graphics card to get for this specification?

How much money are you willing to spend? At this point, its about the most expensive card you can afford.

About £150 pounds/$200 dollars.

If you were to get that card, you'd have a system very similar to mine, it can easily handle Doom 3/ HL2.

If you're more worried about doom3, get the Nvidia 5900XT. Nvidia is known for its solid OpenGL performance, and it consistently outperforms ATI in doom3. But guess what - Nvidia's Ultrashadow isn't even enabled in doom3 yet.

The 9800p is a good card too.
