First, I am pretty much a newbie when it comes to internet security.

I recently installed broadband internet and was concerned about internet security. I stumbled onto the HackerWhacker site ( http://www.hackerwhacker.com/ ) and it proceeded to scare the hell out of me:

After clicking on the free tests it showed all of the files on my computer on their website...... none of which were shared files! I could actually sit there and look at all of my personal info on their website.

I have Norton Internet Security with it's firewall turned on and I also have XP's firewall on and still this.

I immediately started using another browser (Opera) and the files went away.

Is this problem with IE well known, was I bamboozled or what?

Well I took the test and my system is full proof secure.

My protection is comprised of Wireless Cable/DSL Router and Norton Internet Security.

Following the info here: Basic Protection for Broadband Internet Installation. (http://www.ezlan.net/firewall.html)

Link to: Cable/DSL Routers - NAT & Ports. (http://www.ezlan.net/routers1.html)

You could see that info but they couldn't. If I'm not mistaken they just have IE run a script to show you that info. Scare tactics at it's best.
Just follow cat5e's advice.
