Doom 3 easter egg rumor

I was at a BBQ this afternoon and was talking with a buddy of mine about Doom 3. He had bought it the same day I did. He told me he heard a rumor someplace that there is an easter egg in Doom 3 where you can play the old doom games. Anybody heard anything like this or know if it's true? If so, how do you do it? Or was he just fulla ****?

I have seen a referance to a "play doom 95" cheat so it is very possible.

I could never get it to work.

All it was, is to bring up the console and type give doom95. I never worked.
