XP 2400, gig of PC2100 RAM, TI-4600 128 meg videocard.

Is Doom 3 even worth buying for this system?

Lowered options I don't mind, but maybe this would just be completely unplayable no matter what on my system...

Well a game finally came along that kills my home computer :(

Geforce 2 Ultra 64mb, 1.7GHz P4, 640MB Ram

This rig ran Far Cry quite decently with the settings low, but Doom3 at 640x480 and everything low averages about 15fps, and bottoms out around 5 in heavy fighting. Basicly unplayable.

I go back to my real computer in another couple of weeks, and im trying not to get too far into it until I get to play it on a good computer. Ill replace this one next summer most likely.......

Squoibymox, with lowered detail and a little bit of tweaking the system should be able to manage

Well gave it a shot and it's playable but pretty borderline. I suspect later levels will be unplayable though.

That's 2 games now that are crying for hardware upgrades - all I need is one more for the magic number of 3 lol.

I think just for kicks, i'm gonna try this game on the box I put together with spare parts. Duron 700@933, (i'll see if I can't squeeze a bit more out of it) 512MB ram, 128mb 128bit Radeon 9200. About the only decent piece on this PC is the board which is an EPoX 8RDA+.
