Before all Hell broke loose, of course... :D dragflameson 08-07-2004, 11:30 AM YES! LOL, right in the beginning... It reminded me of Duke Nuke Em :D I wanna play it again.. but every time I come across one now they're all busted. Rabbitrunner51 08-07-2004, 11:40 AM Ok ..there is the humor I wasa talking about Thats very funny.... Dreamwalker 08-08-2004, 03:51 AM Get 25,000 points and you get a special E-mail. dragflameson 08-08-2004, 09:53 AM Originally posted by Dreamwalker Get 25,000 points and you get a special E-mail. D****t! See.... I knew there would be something like that... I should have kept going, but I stopped after like 5,000  I read there is another Easter Egg in the very final level (i think) where if you stick to the left wall when you're at the boss there's some little button or something on the wall you can hit that opens up the wall and there is a iD sign and it sends you some e-mail with all kinds of thank you's or somethin. [Edited for language - Imperion1] http://www.sysopt.com/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=162904 Rabbitrunner51 08-08-2004, 09:58 AM Thats special! OH boy! How about whoever finds it....gets 20% off of the next edition of Doom....or whatever their next game is... dragflameson 08-08-2004, 10:07 AM id Software PDA In the final level, Excavation Site, after going down the elevator into Hell, stick to the left wall. Make sure to stay to the left, or the final cutscene will trigger. You should come to a dead end with candles barely lighting a brick with the id logo in the center. Click this brick and a wall will open to your left. Walk inside the room to find the id Software PDA containing "Thank You" emails from the staff. I guess each person from their staff says their own little thing :t PacNW CE 08-09-2004, 04:24 PM "thank you for waiting 4 years for a grapically superior version of the original first person shooter....after Wolfenstien 3D." Or maybe... "Thanks to Nvidia for supplying us with free graphics cards, cases of Mountian Dew, and all the groovy escorts that serviced us while we were locked up in our office building finishing this game." Vitalka 08-09-2004, 08:23 PM Originally posted by dragflameson I guess each person from their staff says their own little thing :t I found that PDA :), and every one says their little special thing. :D dragflameson 08-09-2004, 08:31 PM Nice :D I havent even been playing  Been too concentrated on O/C'in latley lol, I think I'll go play now! :D Vitalka 08-09-2004, 08:39 PM I found that PDA the first time i finished the game. Kind of bumbed into that buton on the wall. dragflameson 08-10-2004, 04:07 PM I'm about to find it real soon I think :D Vitalka 08-10-2004, 07:32 PM It should be right before you get to the boss. dragflameson 08-10-2004, 08:36 PM I need to have it beat by thursday night. My new parts are coming in Friday, I need to reformat my HDD Thursday night so I can put it together Friday afternoon! Vitalka 08-10-2004, 08:44 PM Cool what are you getting? :) dragflameson 08-11-2004, 12:41 AM New Motherboard, RAM, CPU and some other small things. I bought the Mobile XP 2600 to O/C to about 2.5-2.6GHz depending on how my cooling system works out. I'm going to run the OCZ Enhanced Bandwidth Series Platinum Edition RAM - 1GB of it in dual channel (two 512MB sticks, PC3500) Got some nice cooling accessories so hopfully I'll be able to hit 2.5GHz with ease and push for 2.6GHz before I go with water (which will be a few months at least down the road from now till I go wet) :) I should be able to back up the Doom dir and keep all my settings/saved games, no? Vitalka 08-11-2004, 01:45 AM That's a good question, c/s savegames folder is very heavy in size. dragflameson 08-11-2004, 11:06 AM I guess I'll have to try :( Vitalka 08-11-2004, 02:37 PM In your case, if i would really need that save game folder i would save it on re-writable CD. :t dragflameson 08-11-2004, 04:01 PM All I would need to back up is the saved games folder and nothing else, right? Vitalka 08-11-2004, 04:17 PM Well that's what i think, you are the one who will have to experiment. ;) :t dragflameson 08-11-2004, 07:43 PM Yup... lol I'll let you know how it goes sometime on Sat. I'm reformatting tomorrow night and setting it up somet time Fri. night... IF my stupid newegg order ships out today. I never had any problems with newegg's shipping, but I've always paid the extra 2 bux to get it expedited and this time I didnt... still says online it hasnt shipped yet :( I'm on the phone with their customer service now... just waiting for someone to answer... :( dragflameson 08-11-2004, 07:45 PM Oh YAY - their site just isnt updated yet :D One package will be here Friday before 4:30PM and the 2nd package will be here Friday before 7:30PM - But since their both FedEX they're probably going to come together at the same time lol... duh Vitalka 08-11-2004, 10:14 PM That's good to hear. :t Rabbitrunner51 08-11-2004, 10:52 PM Another NewEgg shopper..... I bought 99% of my stuff from them .....and NEVER did it take more then three days to get here....Amazing..and Fed Ex is the best you can get..... How exciting it must be for you DFS....a new system.... Enjoy!;) dragflameson 08-12-2004, 09:00 AM Yes Rabbitrunner51, working where I work now has almost made me forget how "real" compaines ship things... this company is HORRID with their shipping. Newegg rocks though, this is my 7th time ordering from them and two packages are coming, both supposed to be here on Friday... but of course (with newegg) one will be here today! :D I dont know what happened online, but their website just must have not been updating... it still said it was at step 2 of 5 last night around 11, the last I checked  Rabbitrunner51 08-12-2004, 09:29 AM I think its the web site...I got a few things from them and thought it would take another day or so..and whoola..Fed Ex was at my door the next day..and a day early at that.... Nobodys perfect..in a unperfect world.... The worse ordering experience I had was when I ordered my game FarCry from Bestbuy..and used regular postal shipping and it got here more than a month later....almost.... Needless to say I had a cow...and did tracking and they sent three differnt #'s in thier responses and I was all confused... Turns out I also forgot to put my apt. # on the ordering address..and rushed to the P.O. and told them what it was....and got it the next day....Whew! What a fiasco....I vowed to pay the extra $4.00 for shipping from then on ...not worth the heartache.. I got it real cheap though on a promotion for $30.00 and free shipping....;) dragflameson 08-12-2004, 11:20 AM Haha. Yeah I had a bad experiance with str8buy.com - shouldnt have never even ordered from them in the 1st place with that sketchy name of theirs. They had the only server case I wanted, they charged me the day after I placed the order. (most companies who dont ship the same day or next day after you put the order in will wait till they ship before they charge you) So they charged me the day after I placed the order and I didnt get the case until about 3 1/2 weeks later! I thought I got beat for all my money... their customer service was BAD. SysOpt.com
