I tells ya, what's the world coming do when you can't do some carnage without little 'uns stealing your wallet!! :D dragflameson 08-06-2004, 04:45 PM Link works. Thats interesting. cbh 08-07-2004, 03:00 AM How in Above's name did they get the CD-Keys?? This is weird and astonishing! Bigjakkstaffa 08-07-2004, 08:34 AM The CD-Key is stored in an unencrypted file in the "Doom 3\Base" folder, all that the exploits do is retrieve the data from this file (i.e. The CD-Key) whenever anyone accesses these particular game-servers. --Jakk:t dragflameson 08-07-2004, 11:01 AM Originally posted by cbh How in Above's name did they get the CD-Keys?? This is weird and astonishing! It says right there if you read it... People on IRC where downloading some .pak file that some random person said you needed to join some server, people actually went and downloaded it and put it in their Doom3 dir, and then joined this server which was not encrypted so the admin (probably the kids friend) was able to see all the CD Keys probably while the people where connecting. Not that astonishing if you ask me, just one of the 1st hacks to go public like any other game you can play online. bob05 08-07-2004, 12:08 PM I wonder if iD will offer some kind of patch to fix this exploit. mobo57 08-08-2004, 05:14 PM Look back at the post, looks like it was a hoax. dragflameson 08-08-2004, 05:22 PM Originally posted by bob05 I wonder if iD will offer some kind of patch to fix this exploit. I wonder if iD even knows about it, or if they do if they even care about it :x the xenon 08-08-2004, 05:54 PM oh come on thats those kids fault downloading pak file to play a game, wtf were they thinking? u get a virus same way dragflameson 08-08-2004, 06:13 PM Originally posted by the xenon u get a virus same way Or better yet iroffer and get turned into a bot at the same time mobo57 08-08-2004, 06:40 PM It's all a hoax!! Inside source, well kinda: http://doom3.enterthegame.com/ Seems to have started by/from/because of those who got pirated copies and tried to go on-line. dragflameson 08-08-2004, 10:05 PM Well now it looks like iD made it so generated cd keys will not work in online game play... that original message is what confuses me so much though... mobo57 08-08-2004, 10:28 PM Early information, needed to be parsed, parsed, final story, end of rumor.
