On the hardware side the argument has been presented that Ati has surpassed Nvidia for the last number of months and now the dominance appears to be complete as Nvidia badly missed thier numbers for the most recent Qtr and the stock off 25% in lated trading. Look for Nvidia to slowly disappear in the future. This could be the last throughs of a worthy competitor. ;)

I doubt it, while performance wise "dominance" might be an (albeit highly dramatised) acceptable way of describing the R3xx's position over the GF FX5xxx series, this time around it's essentially a draw between the two companies.
Similarly while financial results may have been bad recently, Doom III will have helped improve things considerably with the 6800GT more or less walking itself out of shops, of course this could be countered by HL2's release in the coming month(s) if ATi does indeed hold the 30% performance Lombardi stated.
Also, while some have remarked at Nvidia's placing decreasing orders with suppliers, it appears they are in the process of switching over to IBM for supplies.
To say Nvidia is dead or dying is quite the over-statement and in terms of product performance and quality i wouldnt envisage such a thing at all, similarly there is a huge community of Nvidia fans, even in the professional games journalism arena. Admittedly a large quantity of this hardcore fan-base tend to know little about the technical and hardware aspect of computers and are simply a fan of the company name rather than the product itself (aka, raging fan boys - see www.nvnews.net :p), such a level of support would seem to ensure than Nvidia won't die out any time soon. With this said though, it still happened to 3dfx, who are still arguably the most popular graphics card creator ever seen...
However, if Nvidia were to bite the bullet it woul be bad news for the consumer as ATi would hold a stranglehold over the performance graphics market, and as we all know monopolies are never good things for the consumer.

Nvidia still made a net profit as of Q2 2004, so they aren't in that bad shape. Look at how long Gateway has been in debt and they're still around.
if you have a link to that article, please post it.

True, but a series of very foolish business decisions led to 3dfx's demise. The most notable one was not selling GPUs to card manufactures anymore, in favor of making everything themselves. Not to mention delaying "Napalm" (which was suppose to be released during the Voodoo 2-3ish time frame) so long that they ended up making it a new core. As long as Nvidia doesn't mess things up and make sound business decisions like they have been doing, it's smooth sailing (or at least we all hope). :D

Anyone who thinks that nVidia is going to "slowly disappear" needs to take their medication.
How many years did nVidia kick the snot out of ATI??? ATI is still here right? nVidia isn't going anywhere.

Remember though, while Nvidia were indeed kicking the snot out of ATi in the performance arena a few years ago, ATi was shifting more graphics cards (admittedly not very good ones) than any other manufacturer in the world as a result of extensive OEM and Bundle deals.
People into performance graphics often tend to forget that its not the high end that makes or breaks a company, its the entry/budget level. You can have the fastest GPU in the world, but if you havent got a decent product line-up for your average Joe Nongamer, your commercially sunk. Both Nvidia and ATi have more than healthy entry level solutions product line-ups which should ensure their survival for the nect few years (unless eveyone stops upgrading hardware that is - but i dont think we're at that stage just yet)

There is no way Nvidia is going o fade away, Sure their profits wernt that good buy hay, I am suer can make do with no profits fo a couple of years. But even today most people prefer the Gt to the x800 pro, mainly because of pure performance.

Nvidia made one mistake, wow big deal. So the 5xxx card were not good, that is just one thing. Nforce 2 and Nforce 3 250 are currently winning the market over and the 6800s are just as good as ATi, in the case of the GT even better. And that being said the 5xxx cards made Nvidia money as well, people will buy whatever looks good without research and alot of OEMs sold Nvidia as a low-end graphics solution. Nvidia is hear for a loooooong time

The GT is the far superior choice to any card on the market just now!
NV wont go away and i hope that neither NV or ATI dont die because then prices of card shoot up etc.
if 3dfx where around today still they would make the best cards i think. they got beaten in the market that they created!! that is called ironic.
It is shear naivity to think that NV will go bust.

Not if you've got the "grapefruits" and the know how to void your warranty it isnt ;)
But that's a different issue all-together

Because it's one of the laws of Sysopt-onia.
Basically people spot endless reams of junk in signatures that nobody really cares for and do nothing bar take up space, or abuse the feature. It's for this reason that signature option is disabled.

okay sorry, slap myself on my wrists.
nvidia wont die and if they think the money might become a problem in teh later days theyw ill just buy another smaller company that makes compuetr components.

I don't think so...
Since 3Dfx is part of nVidia, the company is coming out the new range of graphics cards that are 'accepted' by Intel first.
I think your saying may be another rumor that is trying to 'tarnish' and 'degrade' the image of nVidia.
