One Note is cool as heck if you're a serious note taker and have a tablet pc.

Awww, that would have made a nice gift for my girlfriend last week if only I knew about it... she goes back to college in 2.5 weeks too, oh well, next time ;)

Microsoft GAVE me a copy at the Imagine Cup competition - and I've STILL never used it.

How many people have tablet PC's? I really don't see what's so special about One Note. I use OpenOffice and have no trouble keeping up with my notes (including drawing diagrams and such) on my laptop in college.

Yeah, it was one of the "big new things" to be installed in our latest MS Software pack at work, and in all honesty, it strikes me as about as useful as a chocolate fireguard, methinks novelty value is key to it's appeal more than anything.
