Ram for HL2?

you can probably get away with 256 megs, but don't expect it to look very pretty...if you want to experience it in its full glory, i'd say a gig of ram +

Expect 256mb to be the minimum. Having played the HL2 alpha i have to say its not as big of a resource hog as Doom III and runs along rather swimmingly on 512mb of RAM, that said 1Gb is the way to go for gaming in the coiming months, but IMO, for HL2 as long as the rest of the system specs are decent, 512mb should suffice for most.
