The only game I know of that would need it would be Farcry v1.2, but they retracted that patch.

Dont bother with it until games start prompting you to install it.
It's main advantage will be in exposing SM3.0 features for FX6800 users and SM2.0b features for X800/R9xxx users. Though of course eventually everyone will need it for comaptibilties sake, but at present there is no compelling reason to upgrade.
