i know this is sort of bragging but ... my eVGA 6800 gt has finally shipped just like their pre order ship date said august 2nd... it should be here in 3 days and then my new system is finally complete and ready for doom 3 :D :x

proly not, (or at least not yet) i mean i personaly think u spend 400$$ why should u risk anything to get the extra 2 fps? its not going to matter, although maybe in a year or so if i need just that extra boost i would

it should OC to ultra speeds pretty easily. you can always use coolbits and just test to see what the max OC would be.

I agree with Midknyte, you wont be sacrificing the card to overclock it. 6800 GT's have been known to overclock to ultra speeds without a problem. Im sure it will run fine as it is but why not overclock it some. It wont hurt the card especially if you have us to help you overclock it!;)

ok tested with coolbits autodetect it says 399 core and 1.09 Ghz memory looking good :)

lol im going insanse now cause doom is so crazy, although i kinda want to play something with more open scenes and stuff on earth, i think i will like HL2 and farcry better
in farcry can u go whereever u want or is there a predifined path like in doom?

farcry is very open. you can shoot just about anything including birds and fish. you get to drive vehicles, etc. make sure to use the high quality settings so that you see the grass, water effects, etc.

I've used coolbits to overclock this card (418 core 1.13 mem), however my system doesn't save the settings when I restart. I clicked on the 'apply settings at start-up' tab but it's not working. Could the card be locked? Any suggestions?

well i tried it and it lowered when i clicked the detect optimal freq.

bmcbmc - what version of coolbits are you using? make sure it is version 2.0. did you test that setting before you saved?

Dozer - what speeds are you getting? the BFG is only clocked to 370 core and 1000 mem.

i looked for about a 1/2 hour to find a link for coolbits 2.0. and now i'm not sure witch version i got. is there any way to find out?

it's probably not 2.0 now that i think of it. because they were showing exemple of the gf4200...

and if you have a link for the 2.0, it would be nice...

my card is at 370 core and 1000 mem. and it gave me 364 core and 983 mem...
