Ok I am trying to over cloc my PII 400. I changed the FSB to 103 and When I booted up I could kinda make out the text but it was blurry the windows 98 startup screen was ok then after that it went to the next loading screen and locked up. I am new to overclocking but not PC's I know a little I did just build this. I know thats not much for you guys but I am only 17. I don't know how to change the voltage. And by how much. Or what that does. Please help
Here is a little info that might help
ASUS P2B Mother board
128 MB pc100 sdram
Diamond Stealth II G460 AGP
Acer 36 X
Acer 2xW/6xR

Hope That helps
Thanks in advance for any responses

You will need to up your voltage just a little bit...and MAKE SURE you have good cooling going on! With the ASUS board you have to do what we lovinly refer to as "taping pins" Check out this web site..it will answer your questions.

Ok I think I got it someone let me know.
I up the VCC core to 2.2 by taping.
And then play with the CPU extrnal clock by uping it to 103 105 110 112......and on
How do I kow how far I cn go I know that means heat. But How do i keep it cool?
Also, How do I know what MHZ I m runnin?
Is there a formul or what?
Thanks you in Advance

Your on the right track. There are 2 indications of cpu frequency, one is bios display of frequency on boot up, the other is calculated by knowing the bus frequency you set and multiplying the FSB times the CPU multiplier, IE: if a P2 400 (normal multiplier is 4.0) is run on a 112Mhz bus, then its a simple problem, 112x4=448Mhz.

You can also run a utility I like called WCPUCLK.EXE, from this site http://www.h-oda.com/
