I just downloaded and installed IE5 with OE 5 (ZDNet Edition). Whenever I start Outlook Express 5, it freezes at the splash screen for about 30 seconds. During this time, the mouse slows down to a jagged motion and nothing at all can be done - a system freeze. Then everything returns to normal and it goes into the progam.
Then, while it checks for new email, the same slow-down scenario returns.
OE 5 also hangs the system whenever I try to organize its folders.

And, whenever my virus-scanner reaches the Outlook Express files, it pauses for a while too!

It all started AFTER I deleted OE5 2 months ago since it was giving me problems. I returned to OE4.01 and used OE4. OE4 started to give me the problem. I updated it but the problem stayed. I deleted it and used Internet Mail. It had the same problem. Now that I installed OE5, I thought that it would solve the problem. Nope! It's having the same problem too!

What should I do? It's driving me nuts!

Someone told me to download the IE5 update but I can't find it! Windows Update in the tools menu doesn't have it and Software Updates in the Favorites menu leads me back to IE4 updates. Everyone else says that they have updated and fixed various problems.

Same problem here (MSN edition)
It works about 20% of the time. Otherwise the splash screen freezes and I get a blue screen warning

I got the blue screen warning when I tried to organize my folders.

You are lucky, AuraEdge, that your OE5 works 20% of the time.

Anyone has any suggestions anyone?
