Explorer MSJAVA.dll errors

I receive an illegal operation related to msjava.dll file while trying to open certain websites in Internet Explorer. If I download the VM for Java from MS website will this fix my problem or cause other trouble with my PC? It's the Win32 VM for Java on the x86 platform. My PC is a Gateway running Win98.

I used to receive errors from explorer until I went to Microsoft and updated its the Virtual Machine update and Microsoft Librarys Update that I found got rid of all errors. Make sure these are updated before you start updating something that doesn't require updating. Except the one I get when I run Shockwave at Imagic online but I can live with that one because I know what the problem/solution is - the patch hasn't been made yet.
