Ok currently I run a GEFORCE FX 5200 256mb pci card on my computer. I play FFXI online and i can barely turn the graffics up at all. I am building a new computer as we speak AMD 64 3000
and i want a decent video card thatI will be able to boost the graffixs up on the game. I am looking to have a AGP slot to use. Can you please help. I dont want to spend a fortune on it as I am in the military and dont have the money to spend on it.

I got the FX 5700 Ultra (AGP)... maxed out my Counter-Strike with it, I am very happy with this card.

If you want to stay with nvidia, 5900xts are good buys. If you want to jump to ATI, the get a 9800Pro.

Ok so this is what my computer specs are gonn be:
K8 800T Mainboard
Athlon 64 3000+
2 GB of PC2700 DDR ram
500 Watt Power Supply
CHAINTECH nVIDIA GeForce FX5900XT 128MB DDR
80 gig hard drive
dvd burner
xp home edition
PS this whole thing is gonna be put together by me. This is gonna be my first pc build. And it starts from a barebones kit from tigerdirect.com. Is this the place to come to when i run into a problem when putting this thing together? I have no idea how to setup bios at all. lol. This will be a challenge but a good challenge.

What type of memory is that? 2Gigs is nice... just remember though, you get what you pay for, esp. in the system memory area.
I rather buy 1Gig of memory and spend $250.00 than buy 2Gigs of memory and spend $300.00, know what I mean?

You should be fine with that. If everything is put together properly, you will be fine. You don't really need to worry about BIOS settings unless there is a problem or you want to tweak it, but save that for another time. :D Just install Windows and you'll be set.

You'll be fine, there isnt really that much you should have to change around in that area, dont freak your self out - stay cool

im using a 5700 w/256.
i have a P4 2.8 800fsb w/HT. & 1 GB ddr400 ram.
I run it on the tweaked 2048x2048 resolution & it's great for farming, but in a party i have to turn off weather effects & reduce the clipping plane to zero. even then it's a bit choppy.
on the hacked 1280x1280 i have almost no performance loss ^^.
