I downloaded the patch on this site to utilize the 3D Now capabilities of my processor. I unzipped the file and found 2 DLL files. I understand that this is all I need, but what file do I put them in? In C:/Windows/System/ somewhere?

these are the drivers fer the Voodoo2?If so,go to device mgr, select your V2 card, select properties, then update driver, point to the location of the new files then reboot when finished.

No, these are supposed to make 3DNow work. The AMD K6-2 has a set of instructions that is supposed to enhance 3D called 3DNow. I guess it is not supported by very many video game companies, since very few titles mention it. Anyhow, the patch is supposed to make it work regardless (I think).

Oops! My Bad! It is for the K6-2 and a Voodoo 2 card. I have a Creative Labs Blaster Banshee. According to the packaging it has a Voodoo 2 engine, does that mean the patch will work with the Banshee?

Will work but ya have to do some things.Unzip the downloaded file into your Q2 folder, then cut the 3dfxgl.dll out of the folder and save it somewhere. Then locate the 3dfxglam.dll(this is what you unzipped)Rename this file to 3dfxgl.dll.Start Quake and select the 3dfx open gl option under video. You should see some Green AMD lettering at the right corner of the console screen. If ya do then you are ready. Also can install the mini driver if ya want.

I think the "v2" at the end of the 3DNOWV2 title means Voodoo 2. If it does, I doubt it will work.
