Hi,
My computer wouldnt boot up properly. Now it gives me this error in SafeMode something about you need to restore the registry from a backup. Well, I didnt do any backup of the registry. Is there any other option beside reformating the drive. I'm not a starnger in the registry so anyone can guide to there in order to fix the problem so i can do a backup on my documents. Is there a way to around so i can just scan in safe mode.

Thanks for your reply.

Windows backs-up the registry everytime it starts and keeps the five most recent copies for times like this.

Prompt Only from the Win98
[Press ENTER after each line.]

cd\windows
scanreg /restore

*Select the registry you want to restore, and then press ENTER.

NOTE: A properly working registry has the word "Started" next to the date.

so far, I only click on the restore button, expecting a request for a path or a diskett, but no. It rebooted and re-scan and everything is ok and beautiful.
