Hi all,
I am runnung WinXP pro on one HD on my system (Primary Master). I have just installed Mandrake Linux 10 on a Second HD that I want to use as a Primary Slave. I actually disconnected the primary master and installed the new HD as a primary master for the purpose of installing Linux. Now that it is installed I will be setting the Linux HD to a slave drive on the primary. I have a DVD drive and Cd Writer on the secondary as primary and slave.
What I am looking for are your recommendations for a Boot manager that will allow me choose which OS I want to boot to.
Thanks.
Michael

I use Bootmagic witch came with patition magic .
You need to create a 15mb FAT32
partition at the begining of you primary master for it to work.

Thanks for that. I have Partition Magic somewhere here on a Magazine DVD so I'll give it a try.

http://www.bootitng.com/bootitng.html is what I use.
Why didn't you just install your Linux drive as the slave to begin with and install mandrake to that drive and have it install a boot loader for you?

That simply dosent work the first time i installed suse linux i made it so the boot
maneger is writen on the Master Boot
Record but that wold bring up the linux boot manager and youd select betwen windows and linux but when you select windows nothig happend it failed to boot My friend has also done that with madrake linux and it does the same thing. Then I used bootmagic as boot
manager at the master boot record it worked with windows and linux .
So When you install linux and it asks you where do you want to write the boot manager
1.On The master boot record
2. At begining oh hard drive
3.at beginig of partition
Select 3 and use a third party bootmanager

Because I am not that familiar with linux. I installed it in the past and thrashed my windows install so I decided to disconnect the windows HD to be on the safe side. I am trying to learn Linux at the minute and didn't want to be without windows also.

I've had no problems doing that. Before I started using bootitng as my boot manager I did it all the time. Even now if I choose suse in bootit it will take me to the linux boot loader and I can still choose windows if I want.
