We are having some trouble with routing. Using SUSE 9.1 for the Router and SUSE 9.0 for the Squid Proxy.
The Router has 3 Network Cards
192.168.0.2
172.18.18.222
10.0.0.2
The Squid Proxy has a DHCP from the Internet
and 192.168.0.3
We put a few windows boxes into the mix (Our network clients are all windows)
for testing.
A win98 box
10.0.0.1
A win XP laptop
192.168.0.50
We have the routing down on the laptop we can ping the 98 workstation and share files and all that stuff.
Squid works on all the parts of the network 192.168.x.x 172.18.18.x and 10.0.0.x
Our problem is FTP and Pop3 and everything except for http
Everything on the 192.168.x.x part of the network works with ftp and pop and http just fine because it is on the same side as the proxy BUT the clients on the other side of the router 172.18.18.x and 10.0.0.x will not connect to ftp or pop but again http works just fine.
We have a Diagram on the net. It is not up to date It says that we have a Fedora proxy but we don't . but all the IP's and configurations in the diagram are correct. Take a look...
