Well I know almost nothing about SCSI. But I just got an external SCSI case so I want to do something with it. I know that there is several SCSI types SCSI1, SCSI2, ect.The case has a 50pin connector. I dont have a SCSI card yet, but will as soon as I get more info. Do all SCSI factors use a 50 pin connector? Seems to me there were other pin/connector types???? Well I realize that this is a very basic question so maybe some one can give a quick rundown on this topic.
Thanks................

SCSI = Small Computer Systems Interface

SCSI1 & SCSI2 typically use Micro D50 and Centronics 50 connectors on external equipment and 50pin ribbon interfaces internally.

SCSI3, aka Wide SCSI, uses micro D68 connectors both internal and external, although the external has clips.

The other stuff you hear about SCSI, ultra and fast, just tell maximum speed ratings which today run 10 to 80 Mbps. I believe there are also fiber channel SCSI devices available. You can run 7 to 15 devices on most single controller systems. All SCSI systems must have termination of some type, passive, active, or differential.

Need more? Just ask!

Hope this helps!
Good Luck!
