Hey all,

Well, it has been recommended to me that I purchase a new power supply to go along with all the new hardware I've been upgrading with so I guess that brings me to buying a new case. First off, how can I tell what the power supply is in my existing case (don't know where the docs are) and what should I look for in the new case? Apparently, the power supply may be the source of all the problems I've been having with my IDE devices (well at least we suspect it might).

Another quick question: Is it worth it to spend more money on a "better" IDE ribbon cable or will any generic one do?

Thanks again.

One thing I look for in a case these days is easy access to internal components.

I'm not quite sure what you are asking in terms of what power supply you have: There are basically two types of power supply for PCs; they are AT and ATX, and generally these are the two basic types of cases you will choose from. However, you can buy an AT/ATX case which will do either/or. .

As for the UDMA 33/66 IDE cables that are selling for $20+ (and I have one - use it for my CD Burner) they might help a little if you are overclocking the bus, but standard $2-5 IDE cable usually work okay.
