hiya. i'm in scsi connector hell trying to find an adapter cable to connect a external scsi zip (not arrived yet) to my scsi card.

got a mylex/buslogic card with a 50 pin external connector. doesn't say what kinda, but i'm assuming its a micro db. iomega's site doesnt say what type of connector (25) is on the zip, though.

does anyone know what the zip scsi connector is? is micro db the same as a high density? hate to save $30 on the drive and then have to buy a $20 cable.

documentation documentation documentation documentation documentation documentation. all these companies suck at it.

i know i should just wait til the drive arrives, but i hate to get it and then wait another week til i got the right cable.

any help appreciated.

I believe the ZIP's all use SCSI2 type connectors/cables. You might need a SCSI3 to SCSI2 adapter. I have the same predicament on my UW SCSI controller.

thanks. turns out its a db 25pin male on the zip. **** thing looks just like a parallel cable connector. after paging through endless online catalogs last nite (was that db50 or mini db50 or hddb50 or scsi2db50 again?), i found a local vendor who carries them for reasonable prices. another minor miracle.
