setting up a ftp site

Hi I would like to set up a ftp site to enable my wifes family (in India) to see our pictures and videos with out having to dl them.

Does a ftp server act like a sort of internet server.

I am using winxp.

Wow it seems google is the way to go to find out new

You need to install an FTP server. You can give a try to this one it is free.

Actually when it was suggested that i google it was the first hit i checked into. Your right it is very nice.

There are free online photo or image hosts available to post pics or picture albums for friends and family or other uses. I can think of 3 ... I'm sure you could Google more.
