Hi I would like to set up a ftp site to enable my wifes family (in India) to see our pictures and videos with out having to dl them.
Does a ftp server act like a sort of internet server.

Do a Google Search for: setting up a ftp site

I am using winxp.
Ok I will google it.
Wow it seems google is the way to go to find out new
info. I have get into google because i guess i will save everyones time and my own. If i have a problem then i will post thanks for the tip.

There are many options.
You need to install an FTP server. You can give a try to this one it is free.

There are free online photo or image hosts available to post pics or picture albums for friends and family or other uses. I can think of 3 ... I'm sure you could Google more.
