I have a DEC 500a with two NIC cards. I believe one to be bad, how can I check this? I can explain in detail how and why these cards are configured if this will help anyone to point me in some direction.
SYS is NT 4.0
TIA:t :t :t

Is one of them not doing what you'd like it to do?

Steve,
Thanks for responding, I sure hope you can help.
Yes one card is in fact working properly.
One, which is working is connected to our computer network using tcp/ip
with Autosence.
The second which is a direct ethernet line to a printing press also uses tcp/ip but set to 10b t no link test.
The PC name is QMDI_RIP1, and the press is configured to look for this at the end of the ethernet. When the press boots up it reports of a in valid drive specification. We know this message means that it can't locate the device it is programmed to find.
If I take another identical PC name it QMDI_RIP1, connect it to the press and boot the press, then the connection works.
Do you need more specific info.
Thanks very much for responding.
