Hi, i just got a new Quantum 12.7 gig hard drive and i have it hooked up as my slave to my 4 gig hard drive that is running win95.

I attempted to move a large amount of mp3s (i own the CDs the mp3s are ripped of from of course...) to the new drive, and it converted them all to the 8.3 format of long ago. How do i get the new drive to allow extended filenames?

thanks for the help,

if you use a dos box in windows and xcopy32, it'll preserve the long filenames. just type in xcopy32 /? to check out the many options. i normally use xcopy /c /h /e /s /k.
