I am using a zoom x3 adsl moden with a 512 broadband i am upgrading to a 1m connection does anybody know if my modem will handle it or do i need a new modem

That would depend on your modem. what modem is it? I think for Anything above 512kb you would get a router.

Yes, it can handle it.

The only way a modem would need to be replaced is if you switch technology (ADSL to ISDN or IDSL or T1).
