hey guys right now i have dail up and its ghey so i want comcast but parents wont let me get sumthin that expensive.so i was wonderin i dsl good or acceptable wen playing online is there bad lag or any lag at all. or should i jus keep bugging for the comcast i need some answers. thnks a bunch ppl!:D

Both DSL and cable are pretty nice for online gaming, even a 128kbps service will do the trick :t

There is a large debate around cable vs DSL, so: IMO, DSL is way better, though cable is converging to offer a better quality of service. Nevertheless, if you live in a big building and many of your neighbours have cable internet, cable is, IMO, unadvised...

i use to have sprint dsl, and it dled around 70kb all the time. it was a dream. we moved tho....so i lost it for about 2years/

my parents just bought cox cable today tho, and my mom will pick up the installation kit tommorow. we got the 128kb, we cant afford 1.5mb for awhile :(. i used 128kbps for a really long time at my friends house, and he dled about 15-20kb per sec. its slow, but it playes the games online nicely.

so r u gettin the 128kbps or 1.5mbps?

I've always been a fan of DSL, partly because I don't have cable (I have DirecTV) and because no one around here even knows what DSL is (so I can get all the bandwidth I want) :D. In addition, SBC/Yahoo! is giving us a 1.5 mbps for the same price as their standard speed (I think it's 768 kbps) so I guess it's all good. :t

I was using cable, was not happy with it. Speed wasnt that good and you couldnt frag anyone ;)
I just switched to a DSL line and its great. Its cheaper and better too.
