Well my buddy asked him for me to have a look at his PC. He has dialup, it connects but wont let you open any webpages or AIM. He is runnign windows XP pro, any sugjestions on what his problem might be.

Does he get an IP address after connecting? Does the connection find a DNS server?

i check this by opening a command promt and typing ipconfig?

Type "ipconfig /all"
