I am having this problem after having done a brand new install of

win98se.

This is what i did:

1. Formatted the harddrive and installed 98se.

2. Installed motherboard chipset drivers.

3.next, it was Dx9 and then the video drivers and the sound drivers.

4. Installed modem drivers, setup dialup connection to my isp, went ahead with Windows Update.

5. After having all the 19 or so critical updates, windows prompted for a reboot.

6.Rebooted, went again to Windows update to check whether all updates were properly installed, so it was - 0 critical updates found.

Thats it, now whenever i try to delete any file or folder the explorer freezes for a while like for some 20-30 seconds and then its fine.

dunno why?

Any ideas??

Thanks

Try a general Disk Cleanup , Scandisk, and Defrag to see if it helps. You may want to try RegClean (http://www.download.com/3000-2094-881470.html?legacy=cnet) after Disk Cleanup .
