Is any one thinking about picking up this little bugger when it comes around? I sure as heck am. The features built-in are awesome and it is fully expandable due to the nterface types built-in.

I think portable gaming is getting larger and larger. They both look too big. The problem I see with the Nintendo DS is Nintendo's direction. They claim isn't going to replace the GBA/SP, but then what is it's exact market? Either way, I'm not paying over $100 for one, I'll just wait for a price drop. $150-$200 is too much for a portable gaming console. stix_kua 06-25-2004, 03:08 PM With the current game screens I have seen, my choice would be the PSP. One thing I despise abut the Nintendo way is the fact that they are pretty much only remaking the old games for their new systems. For instance, they are creating or rather re-creating Super Mario games for the Nintendo DS. That is ****. It has become the same four game series over and over again since the time of the older Nintendo Systems. Why is is that Zelda, Mario, Metroid, and Pokemon are the only games these guys have made over and over and over and over again. With the Sony approach to things, they have remade some games and are ocming out with totally new games. Also the hardware built into the PSP is far superior. The hardware resembles that of the PS2. As a matter of fact, games are supposed to be very easy to prot from the PS2 to the PSP platform as well as saved games. But besides that, the quality of the image on the PSP's bigger screen (4.5 inches compaered to Nintendo's 3.2 inch screen) is much closer to the PS2's image quality. Nintendo's imag quality looks more like mix of the Game Boy Advance and a few Nintendo 64 polygon shaped characters. Also, with the way the PSP is built, it is more of a multimedia machine in the sense that it can play movies from the UMD (universal Media Disc) disc format. Also the UMD's hold about 1.8 GB which is very close to what Nintendo's current GameCube system holds. With an expected battery life of about 10 hours for game play, 2.5 hours for movie watching, or 8 hours for audio playing, The PSP is set to replace many other devices of its portable nature. It is sad to say but the days of Nintendo are coming to and end. Nintendo has fallen onto the Sega tracks. Soon Nintendo will only develop and publish games for other platforms. SysOpt.com
