hi,
I have recently installed painkiller and have downloaded the latest patch. The game plays ok in mp and single modes but all of of sudden it crashes at the first level when I get to the first red fire for the next phase. I then get returned to the desktop with the following bug report:

It's weird cos I played the game for a while to test run without saving and passed through about 6 levels but, now it crashes when I get to the first progressive point (the red shimmering fire ).

In mp I could be having a good tear up in ffa and the game just crashes.

i have an amd athlon 1800+ processor
geforce 4 ti 4400 128mb video card/latest detonator drivers
512mb of ddr ram
i also have 1.5megabit broadband connection

It is a cracking game and I long to play it, cos hopefully in August my copy of Doom 3 will arive (ordered it last year ) and painkiller will go on the shelf with UT2004, nosferatu etc. LOL.

Any help will be appreciated.

r.e: MY THREAD ABOUT PAINKILLER.

THINK I HAVE SUSSED IT, WENT INTO THE SAVED GAMES FOLDER AND DELETED ALL OF THEM. NOW THE GAME SEEMS TO PLAY OK.

I THINK IT IS BECAUSE I DOWNLOADED THE PATCH AFTER I HAD SAVED THE GAME.

STARTED FROM SCRATCH AND IT SEEMS OK NOW.

It's a really common bug for some poeple. When there is to many saves in the folder the game crashes.

it's a awesome game with enough blood to fill the grand canyon and the rag doll physics are unbelieveable I was thinking about buying the game but with the problems I've been seeing lately I'll stay with the demo(s) awhile longer.

I too was edgy about getting this game due to the reports. I had an attack of new game-itus, so I risked it. For me, it installed easily and had no problems. I haven't installed the patch or update (new level) yet though. (It took me forever to figure out how to kill the last (head) boss, but its simple once you know the trick)
