I play this game with a ti4200 and it plays just fine. The rest of yer specs kick the **** outta mine too.

A7V8X - Deluxe
2200+ AMD Athlon
512MB RAM
ti4200 128MB

I play @1024x768 on a 19' Monitor with 4x antialiasing on. Most video settings on medium except Textures on High. Game plays very smooth for me. I am upgrading the chip to a 3000+ Barton(400fsb) and boosting the RAM to 1GB(2x512 dual channel) but keeping the video card for 6 more months. Just a FYI on how the game runs for me.

i don't know why this system wount play any game with this card in. it use to be fine in my other PC.

i think the system might be pushing the information to fast to the card, and the card just freez. would that make sance???

No that doesn't make sense to me, but welcome to my world! Too many times, the thing that didn't make "sance" is what fixed the box. Although I doubt its what you explain, it still may have something to do with the card. Have you run any benchmarks?

I just noticed that on my other post, C R A P is censored....
That seems dumb to me! Here's some things that should be censored...

1.) LOL
2.) LOL
3.) LOL

Everything else should be good to go...

you gotta pretty nice setup, im planning to get something similiar. are those 2 raptors anygood? noticeable performance? and how bout the ram? good buy? exactly what i was planning to get. :)

the raptors on raid 0 are verry fast. i instal Windows XP on them in 16 min.:D and it opens Photoshop 7 in 3sec. i guess the FX51 has something to do with it.

the Ram work verry well too, has to be ECC registerd. a little pricy, but worted.

i'm verry happy with it so far. i just wish i had the video card to try it with games or 3Dmark 2003 to see my score. right now no game will run on it, with the GF 4600it:(

sry if i am changing ur guys subject here, but i am really frustrated, i just bought a new radeon 9800 pro, stuck it in (upgrading from a fx5200) and thought yea, all my fps problems are solved. well for some reason as soon as i get on semi-large maps, my fps drops wildly, to like 5. I CAN"T figure out what is goin on! my "cpu usase" goes to like 90 , when the fps drops like that, and sometimes the cpu usage goes over a hundred (Don't know how that works!??!?!?!) I have an athlon 2200 xp, so i know other people are playing perfect, with my exact processor,!? what could be wrong??? Did i do something wrong, or i am just one of those unlucky people, who no matter what they upgrade too, it seems as if i am goin to have problems .lol HELP PLEASE!

512mb ram,
128mb radeon 9800 pro,
athlon 2200 xp
windows xp
hmm anything else i need to tell u?

ivorybullet: Please post in a seperate thread seeing as it's a different topic altogether as it could be a simple fix, or one that takes awhile to find out - though I'm leaning towards not running NFS from guru3d before changing cards (and drivers) and your system doesn't like it.

Don't even see a difference in load times with RAID with 74 gig Raptors, can't be much if any with the slower 36's. http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.aspx?i=2101&p=10

The begining of the article on RAID itself and a simple overview of why you generally don't need it. http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.html?i=2101&p=1

Simple overview:
http://www.anandtech.com/storage/showdoc.html?i=2101&p=1

Higher level RAID arrays will do better, but you'll have to shell out for a controller card, and even then, you'll need SCSI to take full advantage of that. Not worth shaving a few more seconds off your load times from one Raptor.

you don't see any difference between 2 Raptors on Raid 0, conpair to what???

i have Windows instal on the Raid0 and on a 120gig WD IDE on the same system, and i see the difference between the two...

sry to go off topic, but what is ECC Registered and the difference between it and non registered?

The raptor's themselves are faster though.

Registered and ECC are different
http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/R/registered_memory.html
http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/E/ECC_memory.html

You dont need them unless you have an FX-51.;)

he's right. and if you're getting a FX51 chip, these are the only one that work with it.

if you get a pair of ECC reg. they work like Raid 0 is, and if there's an error while loading something, it will fix it automaticly...

Vampiel
07-11-2004, 08:07 PM
The error correction slow's them down though. There's no point to have ECC, the fx-51 requires registered memory only. ECC is slower and is only used for server's mainy.

aaah that clears up a whole lot, but at this time i dont have a fx-51, but i've heard alot of good things about them. thx guys :t

have anybody played that game in here???

it is awsome, and i'm surprise that there is not that many people playing it. online plays up to 150 players, with huge maps, i'm talking about 25KM big. and i was playing it last night, in a room that was full. and it wasin't lagging at all. compair to BF Vietnam or evern Counter Strick condition zero, witch only plays 32 player, on a small map...

if you like FS games, you should definitly get this one...http://www.fancysplace.com/smileys/moderator2.gif

I have played the demo vers. I want the disc now i really like the game.

Question though: when i play it for a while when i get out of game systems seems real sluggish and slow for about 5 min.

here's my spec's

8rda+
xp-25oo barton oc'ed to 2.2gig
1x512 infiion pc-3200 5,2,3,2
36gig deskstar
radeon 9600 pro (not oc'ed)
xp-pro

cooling: k7-volcano 11+, orb for chipset

cooling runs at iddle 38c and after game is at 44c unless video card is heating up or a possable not enough ram.

I just seen where Bionicsniper said

im useing a 9800se witha 2500+ and am getting 34-50fps with graphics at mid-high

I found out that the demo is buggy, and that the error message i get is probbly where they want u to buy the game and not play the demo all the time. Whats weird though is even under event viewer shows no error.

From what i can tell from benchmarks i need a better hd, any suggestions, maybe a seagate, or maxtor, something with 8 meg cache and 7200 rpm .

I intend on buying the game later today

Look for an inbuilt FPS command/switch or try using Fraps

thanks a bunch bigjack for the info

I fixed my problem withe sysdump.txt error.

What I did was delete all files and game from novalogic and then reinstalled and woohoo it works like a charm.

I will post back to let everyone know what my frame rates are.

thanks again

Just got done playing and works like champ getting 45-60fps, and thats in AAS map with 143 people, not bad for 9600pro card

Thanks again bigjack for the "fraps program". :t :t :t

blacknight31k.....get the Seagate 120 GB 8MB buffer drive ( better known as the barracuda)

It is an awesome HD and fast..quiet ..and is tops among 7800 drive benchmarks...

I have this..and immediately saw a big differnce... a very well made product......

I also have a WD Caviar and they are good also..but still the Seagate kicks its booty pretty soundly..

just hit the ~ button and type fps
it will give you a min and max also says something about cpu.
not sure what the cpu # is about, if you know please let me in on it.
i get varied fps rates depending on the map, i like the small island maps best anyway and they get me the highest fps.
small island map > 22fps
large map or villiage map with tons of buildings > 6-8 fps

athlon 1.3
5600 ultra 128m
640 memory
80 gig w8m cache

can anyone help explain FULLSCREEN ANTIALIAS ? what 0, 2, 4
represent?

also texture filtering, where should it be set? trilinear for my system or anisotropic?

:peace:
