MJCfromCT 06-17-2004, 05:23 PM if you are unsure, maybe you could try the demo first...then if you like it, go and take the plunge :) nec55 06-17-2004, 09:57 PM i did but it was to short the demo. i just want some suggestions about the game.:) MJCfromCT 06-18-2004, 09:13 AM i've started playing the game a few days ago - its the type of game that you shouldn't play if you are looking for a typical shoot 'em up FPS...you have to concentrate on being sneaky and stealthy, and patient too...the graphics are nice, the story seems well scripted, and the game is borderline scary in some points if you play in the dark with the volume turned way up :) nec55 06-18-2004, 02:54 PM and about the resolutions: look i have the max resosution 1280x1024 and in the demo it looked good. but there was allso the resolution 1600x1400 something,so if i put the highest resolution but i dont have it on my monitor will it work and be better or it will stay at my max one??? MJCfromCT 06-18-2004, 03:35 PM you could try different resolutions up to and including the max resolution of your monitor. A monitor I have has a max resolution of 1600x1200, but i play most games at 1024x768 or 1280x1024...it is a tradeoff between resolution and framerate...but if the demo looked good and played nice at 1280x1024 on your machine, that is what i would set the full version to run at Someone Stupid 06-19-2004, 12:07 AM I'm taking that the engine is fixed and doesn't perform as horribly as it did with DX:IW? cuelebre 06-19-2004, 12:34 AM Originally posted by Someone Stupid I'm taking that the engine is fixed and doesn't perform as horribly as it did with DX:IW? You and DX:IW ..... we all know.......you told us 1000 times.... Anyway Thief games (besides been the greatest) are not for everyone, if you wanna have fan and be affraid( like some said..lights out and 5.1 sound.....OH MAMA!) I will suggest to play the first two of the series before hand ,you'll get the idea of what Garret it's all about......but if you are looking to shoot and kill everything it moves then don't. I personally refuse to drop above $20 for any game.....I'm cheap what can I say. own 06-19-2004, 01:33 AM The game was great. The thing is, even on the lowest resolution, the game is beautiful. The textures are just bigger, but they still look fantastic. I only have a gf3 TI 200 64 megs with 768 megs of ram and an athlon xp 2000+. I was still able to run the game on 1600 res without the game being too bogged down to enjoy. But like I said above, even on lower resolutions the game looks great. The gameplay is also amazing. I wouldn't buy the X BOX version because there is an AI bug that probably will never be fixed on X Box, but the PC patch is coming soon. It only applies to you if you like to play on Expert difficulty though. Great story, great gameplay, great graphics. It was an overall great game. And hopefully Eidos will release the editors after seeing the huge support for it by the extremely dedicated community. Can't wait for the fan missions if they do.
