I live in Jacksonville Fl, which is supposedly right in the path of Floyd. I was wandering how many of you here will be affected by the storm, and what preperations have you been taking?

I've been buying food, batteries and gas and such. I wonder if my UPS will last very long (It has 2 car batteries in it!

Good luck BBA, and to eveyone in Florida and Georgia. I saw that monster on the weather news this morning, and I'm really keeping my fingers crossed for you guys.

Don't forget to include a manual tin-opener in your bolt-hole - if the mains AC goes out, you're going to have to chew those things open /forum/wink.gif

The kids around here seem to like it (schools are now shelters, so no school).

Well BBA, I hope you tape up windows, batten down hatches and tuck in good because from the satellite photos I've seen, this thing is HUGE. I'm not sure I'd want to ride this one out!

Please be safe.

You too KillerBug. And Susan, I wish your sister, and everyone else over there the best of luck during this storm.

The abslute worst thing that can still hapen to us here in tampa is storm surges, or 40mph wind bursts.

My sister is in Charleston SC and they are bracing for the worst.

The windows are boarded, furniture is moved to the center of each room and all breakables are packed. They are heading out of the area later today and driving up toward the mountains and are just hoping that their house is fairly intact when they return.

I feel for her children who are young and very scared right now.

Good luck to you, BBA

Winds starting up in Jacksonville now...

Cable modem and power are still good for the most part. Looks like we'll probably lose power sometime today, it did surge once already.

I'll keep you all updated as long as I can stay on the internet.

God Bless anyone in the storms path!

Well, the cable modem going out yesterday is about the worst that happened here. Glad it past us.

Any reports from people of NC?
