Does FFXI cost money to play onlnie and is it worth the 50 bucks?

Yes, I believe its around $13 a month.

Depends if you like that type of game. Ive heard some people that love it, and others that didn't like it so much. There are some major barriers when playing, since some of the population play on PS2's and it has a large Asian population, so language barriers definately exist.

I'm a huge FF fan, seven is the best of all, ten was fine, but 11 isn't woth it Idon't think. First online adapter- 40$, Internet connection monthly ontop of that the cost of the game monthly, It takes away the joy of the game when you know you have to keep on paying for it.

I don't mind playing monthly for certain games, if your getting your moneys worth. MMORPG's are constantly being worked on, and therefor need to charge. Its not like many other games that are released, and for the most part ignored (save a few minor patches, usualy due to rushing the game out anyways). Besides it tends to keep the younger crowd away, which besides a few that are good, is generally beneficial.

IT's just there are some other online PC games that are good and you don't have to pay monthly for them. I would look into those games so you don't have to have a burden on your back.
It's going to cost $206 dollars to pay for the game and monthly costs for one year. You could get at least 3 ar 4 really good online games that don't need monthly payments for that much.
