I bought a Biostar IGP board for $65, it seemed a solid budget buy. The video bios thingy in the beginning says 32 mb ram which leaves me with 480 ram for system. I'd like to raise that to 64 mb ram for video, as 3dmark2001 is only 3k. Can this be done? I don't think I saw an option for it in the system bios, or jumpers. Does it depend on the board also, like would an $80 board have that setting available? I'm looking at MSI K7N2GM-L model for the future and it would be a plus if I could get 64 mb vram. Thanks.

why not buy a 64 mb video card?
Something like this would work.

That wasn't his question.

It's ok, that's not a bad deal! I have an old 32 mb ati that has served me very well. I'm still wondering about being able to change up vram with the integrated chips though. Obviously having gotten an IGP board I'd like to try and use it to its fullest. Also supposing I only use a 256 mb stick? Then I got 32 mb of system ram flyin out the window unless I disable the video ram or just lower it. And if I'm trying to play one of the new mmorpgs, 32 mb just won't cut it. Trust me I know. :x

Maybe I should search the biostar site for a faq...

bleh, no luck on faq. I did learn that if win xp detects a 200 gb hard drive as 134 gb you need to get service pack 1, at least for the biostar board

I got this answer from a Biostar tech: "The IGP supports up to 128MB. You can browse the CMOS Setup and change it. The default setting is 32MB." Now I don't actually have the board anymore to test that out, so if anyone has useful info on it, do share.
