system lock ups

I am running PII 350 BX6 R2 mbo 3dfx 3000 256 ram ultra 66 controller card sound card etc etc but I find my system locks up while playing games (baldurs gate) but its not overheating cpu 32C system temp 34C
why am i locking up?????????

My system was having problems with Baldours Gate too. I have a Celery 400, with 160MB of ram. Check around different sites for patches, if I remember right, that's what it took to fix mine. I don't play it anymore, so I couldn't tell you where I got the patch from. (had it written down somewhere) If you've already done the "patch" thing, then I'm not much help here. Try backing up your saves, and reinstall the game.

-EDIT- Also make sure you have the latest DirectX drivers. I think the latest is 6.somthing.
