I think it is bad memory. What kind of memory do you have?

If it's a 3000+ pro, it's soldered on the board.

You can't remove that CPU; don't try. Go to that memtest website I linked to earlier and download the software. Extract it to a bootable floppy disk, boot into DOS, and run the tests. The instructions are all there on that website.

Definitely check the model of your PC Chips board and determine if the AMD CPU is a "Pro" or "A" model. If it's either, then it's soldered to the board and can not be removed. Don't try.

Download memtest86 using another computer and put it on a floppy. You then boot your system with this floppy and let it test the heck out of your memory... I usually let it run overnight when possible. If it passes, great.

If you've cleared your BIOS and the system still won't boot you could always try reinstalling that version or a newer version. Visit PC Chips' website for the BIOS file and flash utility.

How exactly did you clear the CMOS?
