Instant Messenger problems...

I finally got my brother on Instant Messenger but when we transfer a photos they come out smeared like a rainbow. Also files "fail" to transfer. Don't understand. :confused:

Checked settings and all seem to be in order.

Thoughts....comments are welcomed.:x

Is this AIM instant messenger? Do you have a firewall on? What type of internet conection are each of you using.

With AIM you have to also turn off windows firewall protection. Start > control pannel > network connections > double click on your network connection > advanced tab > make sure the box is not checked.

This is microsofts instant messenger. No firewall, behind router. We're both on broadband cable.

Trillian isn't bad once you get used to it. There is also a Gaim port for windows thats pretty stable nowadays.

I would go with AIM instant messanger. It has worked fine for me and its free. I also have had no problem with any porn or junk like that.

If your not a child aim works okay, just don't chat anymore myself, burnout. Plus the other ones mentioned are fine.
