I recently upgraded my DELL XPS H_266 to the whole chebang- an ABit BX6-2.0, Celeron 300A, 128megs 7ns PC133 RAM(BRand new), and an MX300... i install everything, then, the last cable i am ready to plug in, is the power button./lLED/reset button data cable that plugs into the MOBO.... ITS DESIGNED FOR A DELL MOBO!! AAAGH!! now i need to find a power button/LED/reset button cable to turn the **** thing on, and i cant find one ANYWHERE! where can i get a universal cable like this without having to buy a new case? ime short on c **** upgrade, and i would really like to turn on my **** syustem... ANY help or suggestions would be appreciated GREATLY... ime desperete, damnit!!

yeah, i tried using a reset switch from an old computer, but it didnt seem to work... i think the reset button interrputs the circuit, and thepower button starts the circuit... by the way, i dont have a power Switch, i have a button, and its an ATX case, not an AT, its one of the old style dell cases....

Maybe a new power supply? Cheaper than a whole new case, right? Or you could do some research about the pinouts and splice new connectors, or rewire the existing one, if possible. A new PS would be better though... Good luck.

You can get a nice new ATX Case for around 60 buckies. One that has all the right connectors. May even have more open bays for upgrades and add ons later.
Thats one reason I don't like Dell, they're a pain in the *ss sometimes to upgrade.

I just bought a new ATX 250W power supply for $50.00. A new case would have cost me $55.

This is what I did when I installed an ATX power supply into one with an AT power supply. The board supported both. The power switch on an AT power supply is built in or attached by a cord. The ATX power supply has no power switch since the leads are on the board.

I merely diconnected the reset switch and used it as my power switch. Simple as that. If the dell has an integrated power switch and reset switch, try and find a spare from an old computer. That's why I keep them old comps around. Parts....
