Anybody heard of any overheating problems with powercolor Ati cards?????

Not on a wide scale basis, no. That doesn't mean one particular card doesn't have an overheating problem though. I am guessing you own or know someone who owns one and is experiencing this type of problem. I have used a couple 9600 pro's from Powercolor in a couple of builds plus another that I put in my parents computer and they all have worked quite well. No complaints thus far.
