Anybody know where to find files to upgrade OEM OSR 2.0 to either 2.1 or 2.5? Trying to get USB working & MS says no patch available. Have had too many problems with '98 on other machine, don't want to go there.

Yes, well of course you need the USB connections on the motherboard. Are you wanting to connect a USB device?

I think IE 4.X was part of it, but other than a few files being added in the back ground, there isn't much difference. What problems were you having with 98?

Thanks, Nathan - got it. Is this all I need for USB support?

What else was added from OSR 2.0 to 2.5?

tell us if this works -- i've tried the patch and couldn't get a usb game controller (ms freestyle) to work with it.

Nathan,
USB connections & port all ready to go, enabled in bios, just haven't gotten '95 to recognize. Installing up USB QuickCam. Have been wanting to try USB, as have run out of expansion options and IRQ's.

'98 installed on test machine, locks up everytime use windows explorer (not IE). Also locks up unpredictably at other times. This is a "clean" install on fresh HD, no other software has been loaded & machine has minimal peripherals. Cyrix 200, 32M, 2 meg Creative Labs video, floppy & CD, that's it. No modem. No sound. No parallel or serial devices. Have formatted & reloaded several times. Same problems no matter what install options chosen. If it won't run stable on this thing, it don't go on mine! Haven't given up yet, open to suggestions.

Also, a friend of mine had so many problems trying to run it on his K6/2-350, he broke his disk in half to make sure it never goes on one of his machines again! HE is no longer open on the subject!
